Caught the ferry from Langkawi and are in Georgetown on Penang Island. Crossing was a bit choppy at times. Horizon kept appearing then disappearing at the window as we rolled. Nobody was sick though. Leala found celebrity aboard due to filming, and was asked for her photo several times. Staying in a 2-star hotel in Chinatown and were met when we arrived by a cockroach. Fortunately it wasn’t a bad omen. The hotel’s fine. We’ve had our first indications of Christmas here. Odd hearing Christmas jingles and seeing Christmas trees when the sun is beating down and we’re in shorts and shirt, sweltering the minute we step outside the air-con hotel or shop.
