Hired a jeep for 5 days in Chiang Mai, only GBP9/day. Not very new. Steering was a bit (no a lot!) loose. But it goes. Excellent fun on the vertical, hairpin bends. Driving round what's called the Mae Hong Son loop. Very mountainous, 4-6000ft high, so a bit chilly in the mornings. Have found accommodation as we go. Yesterday's was great, a small A-framed chalet a few yards from the pool, and a few more from the riverbank. Mossies galore! Went exploring in a cave. Entered on a bamboo raft, fish everywhere. Guide with lantern showed us the caves. The entrance toilet was interesting, a large spider was hanging about at the door. Some went loo quicker than usual, others suddenly didn't need to go.
